News Letter has been released(2026.Apr.)!! Yokowo Achieves SBT Certification | Advancing Carbon Neutrality

Yokowo Co., Ltd. has obtained Science Based Targets (SBT) certification, one of the internationally recognized standards for climate action. Yokowo’s greenhouse gas emission reduction targets have been recognized as aligned with the Paris Agreement, and the company has therefore received SBT certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
(Note 1: Science Based Targets initiative: A joint initiative by CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) that encourages companies to set greenhouse gas reduction targets consistent with the Paris Agreement and evaluates and certifies these targets.)

【Our Targets】
Yokowo has set the following mid- to long-term targets and is working globally to reduce greenhouse gas emissions:

・Achieve carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by fiscal year 2040
・Reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 42%, and Scope 3 emissions by 25% by fiscal year 2030 compared to fiscal year 2024

To achieve these targets, Yokowo has been promoting the adoption and utilization of renewable energy, taking into account the specific characteristics of its operations in each country and region.

【Key Initiatives】

■ Vietnam Plant (YOKOWO VIETNAM CO., LTD., Vietnam)
In October 2022, Yokowo introduced a solar power generation system with an annual output of approximately 1.34 million kWh, utilizing Japan’s Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) program supported by the Ministry of the Environment.

■ Japan / Tomioka Plant (Gunma Prefecture)
In April 2023, a solar power generation system (annual output of approximately 380,000 kWh) was installed on the rooftop of the new “Micro Process R&D Center” building.
From April 2025, including purchased renewable power, all electricity used within the plant was switched to renewable sources, increasing the renewable energy ratio from 60% to 100%.

■ China Plant (Dongguan Yokowo Automotive Components Co., Ltd., Guangdong Province)
In May 2024, solar power generation facilities with an annual output of approximately 1.7 million kWh were installed on the rooftop of the production plant.
From January this year, the majority of electricity used at the plant has been converted to renewable energy through the purchase of green power certificates.

■ Malaysia Plant (YOKOWO ELECTRONICS (M) SDN. BHD., Kedah State)
A solar power generation system utilizing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) scheme, with an annual output of approximately 1.41 million kWh, was introduced. Test operations began in December 2025, followed by full-scale operation starting this January.

■ Philippines Plant (YOKOWO MANUFACTURING OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC., Bataan Province)
As with other plants, the utilization of renewable energy is currently under consideration.
