Introducing our newest product, Shock-Resistance Spring Connector, which adds even more reliability to the existing SPRING CONNECTOR™. By installing an O-RING, the contact stability and impact resistance are greatly improved.

■ Connector’s Features

・Structure that encapsulates an O-RING and actively contacts the contact PIN to the TUBE.
・Designed specifically for vibration and shock resistance (up to 4000G)
・Rating: 3A / Spring pressure: 1N / Cycles: 20,000 times
・Multi-pole support with single-pin or HOUSING integration is also feasible

<Key Specifications>
Rating 3A
Spring Pressure 1N
Cycles 20,000 times
Impact resistance 4000G (our evaluation condition)

<Uses for this product>
Ideal for use in environments where high impact resistance is required, such as automotive equipment, it can
be integrated into a single pin or HOUSING similar to conventional SPRING CONNECTOR™, and can be used with multiple poles. (Minimum pitch approx. 4mm)

■ What is “G” ?

"G" is a unit of gravitational acceleration, and 1G is the acceleration of an object in free fall on Earth (about 9.8 m/s²).  4000G = an acceleration of about 39,200 m/s².

■ G-values in Different Scenarios:

Shock G value Remarks
Sharp turn of jet fighter Approx. 9G Pilots need training to endure this shock
Car accident (sudden stop from 50 km/h(31mph)) Approx. 30G Quite a shock to the body
Smartphone drop Approx. 100-1000G Momentary impact (moment of hitting the ground)
Impact testing of special equipment 4000G or more Endurance testing of MEMS sensors and military equipment

■Most familiar example:

Even the impact of dropping a smartphone on a hard surface can reach hundreds to thousands of G forces in an instant. However, 4000G is an impact that goes beyond that, and it is a level that ordinary electronic devices and humans can’t withstand.

■ About keystroke test

<Components>
1. Actuator: Controls movement of the hammer to hit PCB 1
2. Accelerometer: Mounted on to PCB1 to measure the impact (up to 4000 G)
3. PCB 1 and PCB 2: The board on which the test object is installed
4. Shock-Resistance Spring Connector: Ensure electrical connection between PCB1 and PCB2.

In this evaluation, a keystroke test was conducted. The actuator was hammer-driven to hit PCB 1, and the accelerometer measured the impact acceleration of up to 4000 G. This boasts about 80 times the impact resistance compared to conventional standard products (about 50G).

*The impact resistance of our regular products is 490 m/s² (=50 G).
