Yokowo Co., Ltd. has received a silver rating in the 2023 assessment conducted by EcoVadis (Headquarters: France), a global rating company for sustainable supply chains. This was the first time Yokowo was assessed by EcoVadis, and awarded a silver rating, which requires a top 25% overall score, as recognition of the company's many sustainability initiatives implemented in recent years.
Established in 2007, EcoVadis is a performance rating agency focused on environmental issues, social issues, and governance (ESG), working to help companies improve their environment and social practices across the supply chain. EcoVadis evaluates companies' policies, measures, and performance in the four fields of the environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, involving more than 100,000 companies in 200 industries and 175 countries across the world.
Yokowo has been publishing an integrated report every year since 2020 and actively disclosed non-financial information, explicitly stating how the Company is contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. Moreover, following a request from a business partner, Yokowo also underwent a VAP audit that assesses adherence to the code of conduct of the RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) in January 2023. An institution authorized by the RBA conducted the VAP audit to evaluate the five areas of labor, health and safety, environment, ethics, and management systems, recognizing the quality of management system and adherence to the code of conduct.
